Fixed Greenwich® Awnings at the Renovated Cura Hotel in Kensington
This year, the Cura Hotel in Kensington (formerly the Park Grand Hotel) has undergone a complete inside and out restoration, and we were delighted to be chosen to supply and install bespoke canopies to the otherwise plain main façade.
The awnings had to be fixed to provide a permanent, recognisable feature but also should meet the aesthetic requirements of the building’s Victorian character.
The Greenwich® awning, in its more usual form, is a retractable system designed and manufactured in our London factory, providing modern function with a traditional appearance. Available with manual or automated operation.
However, in this case, the awnings have been constructed with rigid all-aluminium frames, welded for complete torsional stability. Secured to the building with specially formed brackets, laser cut and powder coated in our works.
Black, weatherproof covers are securely mounted directly to the awning frames, which can be, if required, branded; though, in this instance, the option was not specified.
The valances fitted to the leading edges of the canopies are also of a bespoke style, chosen by the client’s designers and, once again, fabricated entirely in our works.
The Greenwich® Commercial Awning
An alternative to the Deans Traditional Shop Blind, the Greenwich Awning offers the same unrivalled strength and style but with cleaner, sharper lines. The fabric covered front profile and one-piece cover generate an elegant simplicity, popular with designers and architects to meet both modern and traditional stylistic requirements.
