Free-standing retractable awnings for the Ivy House Community Pub

Entertaining alfresco has become part of the British lifestyle. For the leisure industry, the expansion of business into external areas offers more opportunity for increased custom and consequential profit. To maximise the space the use of external retractable awnings has become almost universal in this industry.

The Ivy House Community Pub in Southeast London was recently voted one of London’s top ten pubs by Timeout magazine and this has created a need for even more space for customers.

For this purpose, our Syncra free-standing retractable awning system was specified, providing over 40 square meters of flexible seating area.

The retractable awnings have been installed back-to-back for maximum cover and flexibility. The awnings are remotely operated via wireless controls with motion sensors, which respond to climatic changes for both safety and customer comfort.

For even more flexibility, the retractable awnings are supplemented by remote, low-consumption, infra-red heaters, thereby extending the useability of the area for maximum return.
