Bespoke Eyelid Canopy for Txoko’s Conservation Railway Arch in Bexley

This Eyelid canopy, installed at the Basque styled Txoko Spanish tapas bar, located in the Bexley village conservation area, presented numerous challenges for its successful installation. The canopy was to be fixed within the reveal of an old railway arch, and an immediate problem was that, being an arch, there was nothing in place on which to securely fix the canopy.

Bespoke RIB Umbrella Canopy

Working as a Team with the production staff, we were able to provide the client with an accurate scale drawing of the proposed canopy and its fixing points. This enabled the client to instruct their shopfitting contractors of the precise location for the installation of a suitable substrate.

The Eyelid canopy was constructed using our all-aluminium “Alubox®” extrusion, shaped precisely to the pre-determined dimensions, which were electro-welded and finally covered with a tightly fitted UV-resistant awning fabric, stapled directly to the aluminium profiles. The aluminium profiles were powder-coated in-house in forest green to match the fabric cover.
