A Reminder of Deans’ Long History as Britain’s Leading Awning Manufacturer
Recently, we received a timely reminder from a customer of just how long Deans have been the leading manufacture and installer of awnings and blinds in the UK.
The customer found evidence of an awning we had installed sometime in the 1950’s, together with a faded billboard advertising our services. Interestingly, we also discovered in our archives some advertisements which have a similar vibe, and we thought to share these on our website.
Today, at Deans, we incorporate all the latest techniques in our awning manufacture and awning design, but we are proud of the road we have travelled over the past three centuries to get to this point.
The billboard and the advertisements you see here are in stark contrast to the glitzy CGI-generated movie images and AI texts we are bombarded with today. Many customers come back to us time after time for the very reason that we have not forgotten our roots.

There is the background of how we were founded in 1894, also the part we played in the history of Fulham Football Club when our founder, John Dean was the Chairman and saved the club from liquidation.
