Deans Blinds Kenley awning for Starbucks, Baker St;  “Elementary my dear Watson”

Starbucks was established in the UK in 1998, with their first outlet in the King’s Road, and Deans have proudly been retained as a key supplier and installer of awnings for their coffee shops for nearly 30 years.

This large Kenley retractable, remotely controlled awning, installed just down the road from the fictional home of the legendary Sherlock Holmes, is the latest awning we have installed for this important client.

The Kenley retractable folding awning is a robust option, ideal for busy commercial spaces, offering shade, shelter, and effective branding opportunities.

This installation was challenging in that there was no obvious fixing substrate available for such a large (over 7.00 meters long) awning. Fortunately, our designers were able to devise an imaginative solution which was turned into a practical answer, by our in-house craftspeople in the form of a robust hardwood infill.

The awning, in Classic Starbucks black, was finished with the application of the famous Starbucks logo applied using our digital RAGS® branding process. Control of the awning is by the Starbucks personnel from inside the outlet using a remote, secure, wireless connection.
