Valances add style, protection and branding opportunities

Valances are an additional feature which can be fitted to an awning or canopy or even to one of our giant parasols. Our valances come in all shapes and sizes and are useful, both for additional sun shade, and for the application of a branding message which is applied using our exclusive RAGS®  process of graphics application.

The images alongside show some of the many styles of awning or canopy valance available and, when clients have a special requirement, we will create a shape or style to match individual requirements. Where appropriate, we will also weight the lower edge of the valance to give it greater stability and resistance in gusting winds. Fixing of the valance to the awning or canopy is achieved through a number of methods including stapling, with stainless steel staples, with slidee-in tracking or, in the case  authentic traditional shop blinds, the valance may be nailed to the front lath with Victorian galvanised nails.

For domestic use we also offer a range of drop down valances. The drop down valance is an optional extra available on selected retractable awnings. We offer  the ‘Shade Plus’ option and the  ‘Valance Plus’. Both of these systems  offer an electric version on certain models only whilst all the models having this valance option use a manual mechanical operation as standard.

These special valances offer excellent control of low sun and also resist less welcome cooler breezes that so often occur at the latter end of a day in our British summer. Privacy is also provided as the drop down valance can be extended up to 2100mm deep on certain awnings. The valances are available  in matching, complimenting or contrasting colours to the main awning with the option of fabrics allowing partial vision through to outside one of our using screen fabrics. An additional advantage of this type of valance is that it can be completely retracted thus maintaining a fresh new look over a longer period of time.
