Traditional awnings at the Marriott Hotel

This subdued installation of four Traditional awnings have been installed at the elegant Marriott Hotel on the Plaza Parade, Maida Vale. They have been carefully  designed and manufactured to fit perfectly within the recesses of the four windows. This installation of traditional awnings shows just how important it is that accurate pre-installation surveys are carried out by an expert surveyor to ensure accurate fitting.  The traditional awnings have been completed in an all black finish with the hard wood boxes painted with environmentally safe water based paints and the arms have been powder coated to a hard finish by our in-house powder coating works. The Studio graphic has been applied to the valances through the use of our  bespoke RAGS® branding process.

The Maida Vale name is derived from the pub called The Maida (the hanging board of which used to show a likeness of Sir John Stuart, under which was the legend Sir John Stuart, the hero of Maida). The name referenced General Sir John Stuart, who was made Count of Maida by King Ferdinand IV of Naples and III of Sicily, after the victory at the Battle of Maida in 1806. The pub used to be on Edgware Road near the Regent’s Canal and was there until about 2000. Maida Vale was also associated with the Beatles Abbey Road Studio and the famous photograph of them which was taken  on the zebra crossing.
