Deans Shop Blind – The Original Victorian Awning
During the 19th Century, the installation of traditional design awnings, now commonly referred to as the “Victorian”, was accompanied by a limited selection of colours. Typically, these awnings were manufactured from canvas sail cloth fabric in a muted beige hue, with the name of the business hand-painted in black. While the awning box and lath varied somewhat, carpenters of the Victorian era took pride in creating complex timber shapes by hand.
At present, Deans Blinds utilises modern Computer-Aided Design (CAD) programs to accurately reproduce these traditional designs in an accurate and cost-effective manner. Our replication process is designed to mimic the original designs, which have stood the test of time, while incorporating contemporary technology to ensure precision and accuracy.
