Classic Electrically Operated Awnings Installed at Marks and Spencer, Clapham
The installation of five electrically operated Deans Classic awnings was carried out across the full width of this prominent Clapham shopfront. The Classic commercial awning is well known as one of the strongest folding awnings available, yet it has also made a visually striking impact on this, otherwise plain, High-Street shopfront.
Each awning was carefully positioned in accordance with the client’s architectural specification. The awnings were securely installed using custom-made, bespoke fittings bolted through the shopfront facia into a structural steel girder. This type of complex installation can only be carried out by the most skilled and highly experienced technicians.
After powder coating in our London factory to a specified RAL shade, the Classic awnings were assembled with their UV-resistant fabric covers, A final touch being the fitting of valances branded with the Marks and Spencer message.
The awnings are remotely operated by the client using a wireless switching system controlled by the in-store facilities manager. Installation was carried out in accordance with the Safe Contractor certification scheme; safety checks and operational testing were conducted prior to final handover.
