Bespoke panel shades at Store X
Bespoke awning system solutions are a trademark of Deans and we pride ourselves on being able to design, construct and install awning solutions which are unique to us and available nowhere else.
These remarkable sail like panel canopies were designed and manufactured in our London workshop. The brief from the client was to provide shade and privacy to the top floor of the Store X building and is one of our more interesting and challenging projects. Designed using our bespoke CAD design programme the canopies have been constructed using our RIB® system comprising an all aluminium framework in which we use no plastics based materials (which could weaken the structure) and of, course, would be environmentally less sensitive. The extruded aluminium frame provides strength combined with lightness to achieve maximum resistance to wind and weather. The framework of the canopies are powder coated, for high weathering resistance, in our own powder coating plant. Special brackets were designed and constructed in order to enable the secure installation which was carried out by our installers in accordance with the strict safety guidelines observed in line with our Safe Contractor certification,.
The Store X is a platform for ideas and culture. Their program encompasses fashion, art, design and beyond, engaging a global community of innovators and curious creatives in this London centre. With other locations at Soho House Berlin and Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire their ambition is to present a new kind of experiential space that transcends our expectations of traditional retail, beyond shopping.
London is home to many world-class art museums, such as The National Gallery, Tate Modern and Tate Britain. London has it’s very own art heritage in the famous painters from this city which include Anna Airy, John Bratby, Thomas Girtin, the terrifying William Hogarth and perhaps most famous of all Joseph Turner.
