Form and Function of Awning Design

At Deans we take the fundamentals Design; Form and Function and combine these elements to provide aesthetic and practical solutions to suit a customer’s needs. We understand the key  elements of Design – what it looks like – how it works – for what is it intended – how it can be made.

The purpose for which an awning is purchased can have both a practical and aesthetic. In practice an awning provides shade and shelter and the appearance can enhance a home or provide a stunning three dimensional exclamation mark on a busy high street.

In terms of appearance our Graphics designers can, on special request, take an image of your building and superimpose , through the means of our bespoke CAD programme a realistic facsimile of the awning on your premises including any special graphics.

In terms of practicality there are frequently obstacles to the actual installation of an awning on to a building and this is where our Technical Design Team come into their own. With a battery of sophisticated machinery on hand our production department will take bespoke component designs and manufacture one-off brackets and other fixings. These ensure an awning of choice can be installed securely and, most importantly, safely to a building substrate.

You can go some way to designing your very  own awning by visiting our awning builder link where you will be able to chop and change colours and frame combinations until you find one which fits the bill. After you have decided the basics contact us here and we will take you on the next stage of your awning purchase journey.
