Three Traditional Awnings for The Vagabond Bar on Historic Carnaby Street
Made famous in the nineteen-sixties era of swinging London, Carnaby Street still holds sway as a social hotspot in this vibrant City. The newest venue on this iconic street is the ambitious Vagabond Wine Bar.
Vagabond comprises a series of beautifully designed spaces built for discovery, from a bar, shaped from the cooperage of a wine barrel, to riddling racks lining the staircase, a lightwell which draws you through the room, and a private tasting space wrapped in steel winery tanks.
To set the exterior scene, we were asked to design a three-dimensional frontage which encapsulated the energy of the venue but also the tradition of this famous street, which was first established as long ago as the late 17th Century.
Our designers submitted three-dimensional schematics from which the client was able to choose the layout most suited to their vision for this latest venture by the Majestic Wines Group.
The three Traditional awnings chosen received ochre coloured fabric covers and valances, which contrast with white RAGS® branding and wine-red awning boxes. All Deans timberwork uses FSC-sourced hardwoods, finished with water-based, environmentally safe paint. The steel traditional blind arms are powder-coated in our own works to an impact-resistant, durable finish.
