Deans Traditional awnings for Pomona’s, Paddington

Deans traditional awnings have been supplied by us to Pomona’s, the popular restaurant located on Hereford Road in London’s Paddington area. These stunning awnings are exceptionally large for this type of product but, through the use of  the very best harvested hard woods in the construction of the awning boxes, a perfectly aligned finish has been achieved. Also, through the use of water based, fine paints in the finishing process, a durable coating is ensured with minimum environmental effect. Branding to the simple front hanging valances has been applied through the use of our bespoke RAGS® branding process. The awning fabrics are both soil resistant and UV stable with the powder coated traditional awning arms completing the ensemble.  All Deans installers have benefitted from comprehensive in-house training, for which we are proud, part of which emphasises the need for safety to both staff and the public during the carrying out of their duties on site.

Pomona’s restaurant and bar proudly present a British menu from  ethically sourced local produce, from the land, sea and earth. A relaxed fine dining atmosphere, with seasonal all-day menus, sharing plates and tasting menu, can be enjoyed inside or out, with a glass of wine or a bespoke cocktail created by their award-winning cocktail mixer. Restaurant bookings for up to nine people can be made online and larger parties are catered for individually.

Paddington Bear – the “darkest Peru” fugitive is well known and the Isambard Kingdom Brunel station is iconic amongst aficionados of interesting buildings. However, how many are aware of the significance of the 18th Century “Paddington Fair day”? This is recorded in local diaries as being an execution day, Tyburn being the neighbouring area.  To dance the “Paddington frisk” was a synonym for hanging. A spectator “sport” popular in London until it was abolished in 1868.
