Classic commercial awnings, installed at Lewis’s Fish and Grill

These Classic commercial awnings, installed at Lewis’s Fish and Grill in Loose Lane, Maidstone,  have been combined with a corner mounted RIB® wedge canopy to present a striking and cheerful aspect to this popular and friendly local venue. The fabric covers have all been decorated, using our bespoke RAGS® branding process, in a candy stripe evocative of a traditional a seaside resort; an apt aspect for a traditional fish restaurant. The Classic commercial awning  is one of our most popular awnings incorporating  powder coated aluminium framework which, in this case,  has been coloured in our own powder coating plant in crisp white to better show off the bright awning colours.  The Classic commercial awning is a robust, heavy-duty system that comes with a protective hood that sits above the awning and protects it from the elements. The RIB® wedge canopy on the corner is equally robust, featuring an all aluminium frame with not plastic parts which may degrade over time.

All the traditional favourites are available at Lewis’s suchas cod, chips, halloumi or thick fries and of course the essential mushy peas. There is an extensive menu with a range of fish, vegetarian options, burgers & pies which are made locally. All the fish is sustainably sourced. The batter is light and very crispy just how you like it, not too greasy. One small portion of chips can be more than enough for two. The mushy peas are delicious, very slightly minty & well seasoned.

Maidstone lies on the River Medway and historically, the river carried much of the town’s trade as the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. There is evidence of settlement in the area dating back before the Stone Age. Maidstone has a significant light industry base and the loudspeaker manufacturer KEF was founded in 1961 on the premises of the metal-working operation Kent Engineering & Foundry (hence KEF). The town centre has the largest office centre in the county and the area is a base for the paper and packaging industry. Many high-technology firms have set up in surrounding business parks.
