22 Carat Traditional awnings for George Hotel, Cheltenham
Gold leaf has been used for bespoke branding to the valances of these two traditional awnings installed by us on the elegant George Hotel in Cheltenham. The 22 carat Gold Leaf has been expertly created, using our unique RAGS® branding process and hand applied, by our skilled in house applicator. Gold leaf branding is, by its very nature, more costly than graphics which have been created in ink or paint, However, they pay for themselves many times over by the solidity of design and the fact that the ravages of age and the environment will never dim the shine of genuine gold leaf.
These two traditional awnings have been constructed from harvested hardwood, sourced only from licensed timber merchants. The timber has then been hand crafted in our joinery shop then sanded and hand painted with a durable water based paint to present a high quality finish. The sombre shade of the selected fabric has been chosen by the client to contrast sharply with the stark white paint of this historic building. creating an overall image which appears to have stepped straight out of the 18th Century.
