SQ2 Recessed commercial awnings, Manchester

Three SQ2 recessed commercial awnings have recently been installed by us at the David M Robinson Jewellers in St Ann’s Square, Manchester. This neat contemporary recessed commercial awning design is unique amongst similar products in that the front profile has the ability  to merge completely with the shopfront facia.  No other commonly specified recessed awning can achieve this feat as, when retracted, the awning front profile on other systems will  still stand untidily proud of the shop front. The SQ2 awning profiles at Robinson’s have been powder coated in bronze to assimilate into the shop facia and, when the awning is  retracted, a completely flush fitting results. The SQ2 recessed commercial awnings have been installed with a motorised function which involves their being are remotely controlled by a wireless switch which can be protected with a potentiometer sensing devise to ensure retraction in windy conditions.

David M Robinson Jewellery is a family run business which was established back in the 1960’s in Liverpool.  Today they have branches in  Liverpool,  London and Altrincham in addition to this one in St Anne’s Square, Manchester. Today, Robinsons is a widely respected jewellery design business who now employ more in house goldsmiths than any other retailer in the North of England.  The company is one of the very few British jewellery companies to design, manufacture and retail exclusive ranges in-house and have been awarded numerous awards including the De Beers international design award.

St Anne’s Square, in the centre of Manchester is a pedestrianised square in the heart of Manchester and home to St Ann’s Church and the Royal Exchange Theatre. The buildings around St. Ann’s Square and along King Street have developed into the most fashionable shopping district in Manchester.  King Street was the first city centre street to be given over to pedestrian use, in 1976, and the Square followed in the early 1980s. Both have been restored with more appropriately designed schemes in the 1990s.
