Smart Traditional awning for The Soho Hotel, London

This smart Traditional awning with its painted hardwood wooden awning boxes and lath has been installed at the Firmdale Soho Hotel in The Richmond Mews, Soho. The clean lines of the pale fabric colour contrast with the special grey of the awning box and the smartly outlined hotel name we have applied to the awning fabric through the means of our bespoke RAGS® branding process.  Deans Traditional awnings of this type are the approved awning style in accordance with the Westminster planning guidelines and essential if being installed on to one of London’s many historic buildings. The Soho Hotel has 96 individually designed bedrooms and suites and is situated on a quiet street in the heart of London’s entertainment neighbourhood. It is surrounded by some of London’s best restaurants and bars, vibrant cafes and most exciting theatre and nightlife. In the lobby is an impressive three meter high  bronze structure by Fernando Botero, which leads through to the Library, Drawing Room and REFUEL restaurant and bar.

Fernando Botero Angulo is an 87 year old Colombian figurative artist and sculptor. Born in Medellín, his signature style, also known as “Boterismo”, depicts people and figures in large, exaggerated volume, which can represent political criticism or humour, depending on the piece. He is considered the most recognized and quoted living artist from South America, and his art can be found famous  places around the world, such as Park Avenue in New York City and the Champs-Élysées in Paris and, of course, here at the Soho Hotel in London.
