Since Deans Blinds starting making and installing blinds and awnings in London there have been 32 Prime Ministers, 24 US Presidents, 6 British Monarchs, 2 world wars, 47 FA cup winners, 65 Formula 1 world Champions and 26 Summer Olympic games hosts. During all this time we have constantly strived to maintain a level of quality and service which our customers want and what we demand of ourselves.
In 2018 we move into our 124th year and there will be changes to some or all these statistics but one thing won’t change which is our wish to leave all our customers feeling that we did our very best to give them the level of service they expected.
We thought we would feature one of our very oldest commercial customers, Hamleys of Regent Street, London; an appropriate subject for this time of year.
Hamleys is the oldest and largest toy shop in the world and one of the world’s best-known retailers of toys. Founded by William Hamley as “Noah’s Ark” in High Holborn, London, in 1760, it moved to its current site on Regent Street in 1881, thirteen years before the establishment of Deans Blinds. The flagship Regent Street store is consists of seven floors, with more than 50,000 lines of toys on sale. Hamleys is considered one of the city’s major tourist attractions, receiving around five million visitors each year. The chain has ten other outlets in the United Kingdom and also has more than 60 franchises worldwide.
The pictures you can see on this article show just how busy it gets on Regent Street at this time of year as the crowds throng outside the door and pass under the spectacular Deans Traditional shop blinds which are as much a feature of the store as Nelson’s column is to Trafalgar square.
